USING “VINTAGE” COMPUTING PARTS FOR CRAFTS

Techie Crafts does not intentionally “scrap” vintage computing components to turn them into art, as this would be insulting to a growing international trend of preserving computing prior to the year 2000. With exceptions that:

  1. a)the item has been totally damaged and unrepairable

  2. b)the item was found from a scrap pile

  3. c)the item cannot be recycled, and instead of the item completely being scrapped, the item now is being used as an artifact


ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES:


Techie Crafts and your humble artist believes in clean air, clean ways of living and never letting anything go to waste that in turn protects the finite resources of our planet, Earth.


The entire goal is to mitigate using brand spanking new parts for builds, and also resell overstocked parts (see The Basement).


By purchasing here you are

  1. a)saving resources from buying something new

  2. b)boxes and packaging are 90% been used as receiving boxes, being saved from being sent to recycling centers or transfer stations prematurely of the life of the packaging

  3. c)limiting the waste of packaging by retaining them for a period of time with the idea it will be repurposed to be shipped

  4. d)Using sustainable packaging such as old newspapers and plastic baggages; that would otherwise be sent to recycling sooner
